Now more than ever we are looking for ways which we can enjoy the outside within the safety of our own homes. Those of us lucky enough to have gardens or outside space during the Covid-19 lockdown are definitely grateful for the opportunity this personal sanctuary offers during this time.
With the children at home and most of us turning our dining tables into a make-shift office space or a classroom from 9-5, our gardens are the perfect place to unwind and separate the day from the evening.
Being confined to our homes is unknown territory for many of us. But mealtime in the garden can be a great way to escape that ‘Groundhog Day’ feeling and expand those four walls within which we have been spending most of our time.
As glimmers of the Great British Summer begin to warm up our winter-weary souls, providing us with some much-needed hope and warmth during this strange time – we think that dining al-fresco is the perfect opportunity to bring the household together.
It’s time to switch up the routine and enjoy the best room in the house – your garden!
Mood-boosting Al-fresco Dining Ideas
#StayatHome Date Night
Who doesn’t love a date night? With lockdown putting date nights outside the home on pause for now – we think a romantic candlelit dinner in the garden sounds just perfect!
Plus, for those of us who have been living in our leggings or joggers (guilty as charged) – it can be a great excuse to have a little pamper time and get dressed up.
Despite having been together in the house pretty much 24/7, we sometimes need this dedicated time to each other to reconnect without the distractions and enjoy a romantic evening that feels a little bit different.
#StayatHome Family BBQ
Would it even be a British Summer without a family BBQ!? We’re sure there won’t be a single Saturday over the next 3 months that isn’t filled with the mouth-watering smell of a BBQ on the go.
Despite not being able to have friends and family over at the moment – a BBQ really can bring the whole household together and set you up for some quality family time in the garden.
#StayAtHome Bottomless Brunch
A new take on a staple ‘going out’ favourite for many of us brunch lovers – why not create your own #stayathome bottomless brunch in the warm summer sun.
The warmer weather makes your garden the perfect spot for ice-filled buckets of prosecco and beer, and delicious brunch treats – all without the stress or hassle of catching the waitress’s attention for a refill!
#StayAtHome Lazy Sunday Breakfast
Why not bookend your week of lockdown with delicious Danish pastries, a full cafetière of your favourite coffee with a good Sunday read.
They say a Sunday well-spent brings a week of content, so take your snoozy Sunday mornings outside and start your day relaxing in the warm morning sun.
The perfect moment to take a minute and reflect on the week gone-by – we think Al-fresco Sunday Breakfast is a must.
